IN response the letter of complaint by the bowlers of Green Park several weeks ago.
I hear what they are saying and in the main they have a valid point that little is being done for the bowling fraternity.
Here at Great Harwood I had to contact Hyndburn Council and inform them that our bowls pavilion had been broken into and seriously vandalised.
I spoke to a Mr Craig Elliott, explained our problem and that the bowling season was only eight weeks away.
Now six weeks on and our pavilion stands proud and sporting new woodwork - full paint job - full roof sealing and protective guards on all windows and doors.
I on behalf of all the bowlers and the committee of Great Harwood would like to say a big thank you to all the people of Hyndburn Council who have been involved with this project and most of all the swiftness of their response.
I would most of all like to say a special thank you to Craig Elliott for keeping me in touch with what's going on throughout.
JOHN ALLEN (Chairman of Blackburn and District Amateur Bowling Club), Springhall, Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington.
