Oldham St Annes 18 v Leigh Miners Rangers 26: ALL the hard work that Leigh Miners Rangers U11s have recently put into training finally paid off as they overcame St Annes by six tries to three.
After going behind by an early try, Eccleston spotted a gap in the defence and scooted over to score Rangers' first try under the posts. Ratcliffe then followed that up with the first of his two tries but the Rangers went into the half time break trailing 12-10.
Mikalusakas showed his evasive running skills to jink over the tryline and that was followed by Ratcliffe who claimed his second of the game. Rangers' fifth try saw stand-off Ashton's good support play pay-off with a well taken try when he supported a dummy half run from Eccleston.
The try of the match came from powerhouse second rower Slater who made a weaving run from half way.
