A founder and enthusiastic helper at the luncheon club at Lindale Hall, she was a St Anne's Hospice volunteer and fund-raiser for over 25 years.
Tydesley-born Mrs Walshaw died at her Commonside Road home surrounded by family. She leaves a son and daughter, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A service was held on Tuesday at St John's Church, Mosley Common -- where Mrs Walshaw had sung in the choir -- followed by committal at Overdale.
