FREE blood pressure checks are being offered to help Tyldesley people reduce their risk of having a stroke.
Saturday is Stroke Awareness Day and between 10am and 4pm free checks are on offer at the Top Chapel at the heart of Tyldesley town centre following a tie-up between Tyldesley Rotary Club and The Stroke Association.
Rotarian David Lunn said: "We hope people will take the opportunity to have their blood pressure monitored. It will only take a few minutes but it could help to save their lives."
Figures reveal over 300,000 people are living with the effects of having a stroke in England and Wales. Over 130,000 people suffer a first stroke each year.
