POLICE in Blackburn are appealing for elderly residents to be vigilant for bogus officials knocking at their doors.
Police say there has been a spate of similar burglaries at addresses in Blackburn and Feniscowles, with the culprits posing as water board and local authority officials.
The men have conned their way in, without even having the correct identification.
Two of the burglaries happened on Monday, March 29 at Dickinson Close and Princess Gardens, and two others on Thursday, March 25 at Keele Walk and Redlam.
DC David Kerry said: "Crimes of this nature against the elderly are of particular concern, and we would urge residents to ring the police immediately if they are approached in similar circumstances."
