A BURY man is battling for his life more than a week after he was knocked down outside a local pub.

The victim has not yet regained consciousness and is being treated in Fairfield General Hospital's intensive care unit.

The 50-year-old suffered serious internal injuries, two broken legs and a fractured elbow in the collision which happened at 11.45pm on March 21 near the New Inn pub, Walmersley Road.

He was with two friends and was attempting to cross the road when he was in collision with a Peugeot 306 car being driven by a 23-year-old man from Bradford.

Although a number of witnesses have already come forward, traffic police in Bury still want to talk to anyone else who saw the collision.
