THE GRIEVING parents of a teenager killed on a Radcliffe road have mounted a plaque at the scene as a tribute.

Natalie Danielle Pickwick-Jones (15) died in February when she was in collision with a Toyota MR2 in Bolton Road.

A mass of floral tributes were left near the scene outside the Chef's Kitchen, close to the junction of Canute Street. And now her parents, Mr David Jones (42) and Miss Elaine Pickwick (37), of Olsberg Close, have asked for permission from the owner of the sandwich shop to have the plaque placed on the wall.

Mr Jones said: "We spoke to the owner of Chef's Kitchen who said we could have the plaque on the wall. Natalie's friends placed flowers there after it happened, and still go down now after school with candles to remember her. We thought it would be nice for them to have the plaque in her memory.

"Radcliffe High School, where Natalie was in Year 10, has had a collection and is hoping to buy a memorial bench."

Sylvia Needham, who owns the sandwich shop, said she thought it was nice that so many people had wanted to pay tribute to Natalie.

She said: "The shop has been a focal point since the accident. What has happened is a tragedy, so when the girl's family asked if they could put up the plaque, we thought it was a good idea."
