A BUZZ of excitement filled the air at Lancaster's benefits agency this week - after 24 colleagues scooped £4.3 million on Saturday's Lotto.

Each syndicate member walks off with around £180,000 as their share of the £8.6 million jackpot. The other half went to a Preston family of eight.

But it was business as usual for the workmates at Mitre House on Monday as they resisted the temptation to throw caution to the wind and leave their jobs.

One worker, who asked not to be named, said simply: "We found out on Monday and every-one's really happy. It's a lovely atmosphere."

But he said no-one had handed in their notice because 'It's not really enough to leave work'.

o Those looking to spend their winnings in Lancaster could fork out £180,000 on a two/three bedroom apartment at The Millrace, overlooking the River Lune.

An ultra deluxe cabin on the QEII for 125 nights, with a personal bar and butler, would set them back £105,000 through Thomas Cook.

Or, for extra sparkle, Banks Lyon Jewellers has a Hearts on Fire necklet featuring the world's most perfectly cut diamond, for £70,000.
