WHAT a wimp! "Overjoyed" of Simister (Letters, March 5) blanches at the thought of having to wash, sort and carry to his front gate the bottles and cans he presumably carried home before emptying. Apparently he would like them to disappear into a black hole somewhere.
The problem is that we are running out of "holes" and will all have to pay more to dump his empties in them (and probably get fined unless we can achieve our recycling targets).
Thousands of us will continue making the weekly trip to the nearest site with our bottles and cans, until the kerbside collection he complains of reaches our area, enabling us to recycle more conveniently and efficiently. Meanwhile those people who are facing genuine difficulties, either through disability or otherwise, should contact the council.
