I MUST disagree with the letter from Cllr Jon Barry (Citizen, last week) about a planned road bridge across Morecambe Bay.
The bridge will not create extra traffic - only vehicles can do that - but it will shorten the journey between Heysham and Barrow and, therefore, save fuel and cut down on global warming.
As a regular visitor to your part of the country we have often thought about visiting the other side of the Bay but do not do so because of the time and fuel involved.
On Cllr Barry's other point, I am not clever enough to know whether the tide can be harnessed to produce energy but I know that it seems to work on the River Thames. What makes Morecambe Bay so different?
