DARWEN will go into their first ever meeting with Eccleshall tomorrow knowing any more dropped points could hamper their promotion ambitions.
Although how many NWCL Division One places will be up for grabs for second division clubs won't be clear until the summer's pyramid re-structuring, manager Steve Wilkes is keen to keep his side as close to the top four as possible.
They are currently sixth with six games remaining, two of which will be against tomorrow's opponents from Staffordshire, who are in their first season of North West Counties League football.
Wilkes said: "We've not played them before and we have to play them twice yet so it should be interesting.
"I never usually set targets for the players but we want to win all the games we've got left."
Ian Lang could be out for the rest of the season with a calf muscle injury. Paul Brown will be suspended tomorrow but Scott Grundy returns to the Darwen squad.
