A FUND-RAISER who will run the London Marathon in two weeks to raise cash for charity has made one last appeal for sponsorship to reach his target.

James Greenwood, 32, has received plenty of support from his workmates at James Gibson Ironmongers, in Duckworth Street, Darwen.

But he has still only secured £1,200 of the £1,500 he was hoping for. All the cash he raises will go to the charity MACS - Micro and Anophthalmic Children's Society - which looks after children born without sight.

He is hoping for one last push by local people to come up with the money before the marathon on Sunday, April 18.

He is currently training three times during the week and going on a long run at the weekend.

James said: "People have been ringing into work and I have been asking everyone, but there are only so many people you can ask.

"I'd really like to reach the £1,500 mark."

Anyone wanting to sponsor James can contact him at work on 01254 701859.
