West Hull 38 Leigh East 12: LEIGH East's season ended with a whimper when an under-strength side was well beaten by West Hull in the play-off elimination semi-final.

East, without their BARLA international pair of Danny Kilshaw and Lee Wingfield, were always up against it even though Wests with minus their Test players Terry Lynn and Chris Lee.

Stand-off Wayne Harris called the shots for Wests, dominating in midfield and banging over seven goals from seven shots.

Wests got off to the perfect start with a try from ex-Hull KR star John Okul inside two minutes.

The Humbersiders' magnificent defence forced East into making mistakes. Harris potted a penalty after 12 minutes and on the half hour added the conversion to a Gavin Last try.

East had John Woods sin-binned for interference at the play the ball two minutes from the break and immediately Okul went in for his second try. Harris goaled and East were trailing 20-0.

Any hopes of a leigh comeback were quickly dashed when Stuart Leake powered his way over for another Harris-improved try. When Loz Wildbore calimed the fifth home try seven minutes later, it was all over.

East refused to lie down though and Gary Molyneux pulleda try back that Woods goaled.

Lee Moreton replied for Wests before Woods had the last word with superb solo effort that he goaled himself.
