HINDSFORD Sharks U13s football club flew the flag in the Bolton Boys Federation this season by securing a unique double, the league title and the Jubilee Cup.

They won the cup with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Oxford Grove thanks to a Joshua Connolly hat-trick and a wonder strike from midfielder Jack Nixon.

But celebrations were short lived as two days later they had to secure a point in their local derby against Atherton Laburnum Rovers to claim the league. To say they did it in style would be something of an understatement as a 7-3 victory gave them a double that had never previously been achieved at their age level.

Captain Greg Eaton, lead the celebrations, but the goals of Daniel Babilinski, Richard Ratcliffe and Jack Valentine all helped. All three bagged more than forty goals during the campaign. To cap a fine season, seven of the players responsible for the success have been invited for trials at premiership Blackburn Rovers, whilst another two have interested Manchester United. On top of that four more represented the interleague recently.

Despite the glory, coach Derek Babilinski is only too happy to share the success with the players and parents, stating "It is the players that win the games, and just as importantly, it is their parents that turn up week in, week out and cheer them on. They have done this for five years, whatever the weather, and as unsung as they usually are, they are the real heroes of this team".

To ensure next season is just as successful Hindsford are recruiting players for next season. Anyone interested should contact Derek on 01942 748007. Whatever their ability, they will not be turned away.
