AFTER many years of being in a deteriorating situation through lack of investment and being the subject of concern by the public and users, we are delighted to see Sunnyhurst Wood and the parks looking their delightful and beautiful best.
We are not blessed with the most attractive areas in our towns but in the woods and park areas our forefathers 100 years ago created and left for future generations some of the most beautiful recreational areas for the public to enjoy.
These parks do not require regeneration or renewal but tender loving care and good management. And with the formation of the Friends groups working in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Council, a corner has been turned.
Congratulations to everyone concerned in putting the pride back in the park areas. Long may it continue.
