COUNCILLOR Philip Walsh and the parish council have achieved some success on the issue of wheelie bins being left all over the place after being emptied. Burnley Council is to investigate. It is hoped that more information will be available at the parish council meeting next Tuesday.

THE annual parish meeting takes place next Tuesday at 7.30pm followed by the monthly meeting of the parish council in Worsthorne Reading Rooms.

WORSTHORNE School summer fair takes place on Saturday from noon until 4pm. Activities on the day include a penalty shoot out with Brian Flynn, raffle, tombolas, bouncy castles, a fire engine, police motorbike, Body Shop stall, refreshments, food, beer tent, games and much more.

A WINE circle social evening is to take place on Monday, June 14.

A PLANNING officer from the borough council is to attend the next meeting of the parish council to discuss the possibility of a 'street lamp' telecom mast being erected in the Pike Hill area of Worsthorne. Coun Alan Lawson said: "Although these types of masts visually blend into the street scene, the parish council will want to discuss the health and safety aspects."

THE Annual Parish meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 15 at 7.30pm in the Reading Rooms.

WORSTHORNE School is delighted that its target for collecting 10,000 Tesco vouchers has been surpassed. The total stands at 13,131, with 12,910 vouchers needed to obtain a computer. But collecting goes on, as the surplus can be banked towards next year.
