MAY I use the pages of your paper to thank all the people of Mellor and surrounding areas who gave their support to the 'Back Off Blackburn' Campaign.
All the letters, e-mails, petitions and phone calls helped to influence the decision of the Boundary Committee as to the fate of the Ribble Valley.
It must be said that the only sure way for the Ribble Valley to remain intact and independent is to vote 'NO' for the North West Regional Assembly.
Special thanks must go to Anne and Frank Woodward, Patricia and John Moran, Alan Schofield, Christine Dickinson, Joan Dickinson, Andrew Gater, and Sheila Turner and all the members of Mellor Parish Council.
EMMA DICKINSON, 'BOB' Campaign, St Mary's Gardens, Mellor.
