AS EXCITEMENT grows ahead of England's bid for Euro glory, one Burnley street has taken the nation's patriotic fervour to new heights.
Bunting bearing the cross of St George has been strung between the houses in Godiva Street, and residents have adorned their homes with flags.
And the neighbours are planning to get together for a party when England play Switzerland on Thursday, June 17.
Football mad father-of-two Patrick Grimes has spurred his neighbours into decorating the street to support the England team. He said: "We did the same for the last European championships and for the last World Cup, but we have added more flags every time.
"It is amazing how many people have come down here just to have a look."
He put up all the flags and bunting with the help of his son Neil, 15, and neighbour Darren Barnes, 33.
The 42-year-old, who is also a big Clarets fan, went to his first England match last week when they played Japan in a friendly at the City of Manchester Stadium.
Unfortunately, he will be at work on the night shift at Warburtons bakery during England's first match against France on Sunday.
