AN Accrington and Rossendale College student is among the first in UK to get new qualification.
Jamie Buckley, 19, is one of the first students in the UK to pass the newly-introduced Intermediate Construction Award for Floorcovering phase test.
The test incorporates the installation of vinyl tiles, vinyl sheets and carpet fitted on grippers and underlay into an area featuring obstacles.
Jamie, who is employed by Border Flooring in Accrington, completed the test to a very high standard.
The floorcovering course is currently in its first year, with 24 apprentices training. Students from as far away as South Wales and Essex have enrolled on the course.
