WHALLEY Golf Club is running free coaching sessions for beginners on Thursday, June 17.
The opportunity has been set up by the English Golf Union and English Ladies' Golf Association as as part of an effort to open up more avenues to promote golf in England.
Free golf coaching is available to beginners of any age, gender or background at venues all over England during 2004, and anyone wishing to experience golf for the first time can register with a participating venue.
Golf balls and clubs are also provided and after the coaching session all participants are given information on a variety of initiatives aimed at continuing involvement in golf.
They include how to get into regular participation, obtaining a handicap and joining a club.
