GREAT Harwood Town chairman Bill Holden insists the departure of manager John Hughes will not deter the club's ambition of playing UniBond League football.
Hughes quit the Robins, despite guiding them to promotion from the North West Counties Second Division, to take over at UniBond outfit Chorley, where he spent five years as a player.
But that has not affected Holden's aim of securing back to back promotions.
"We've got to keep the momentum going," Holden said.
"We are ambitious and want to remain ambitious and progress to a higher level.
"Plans are in place to upgrade things at the club and move forward. There is money available for ground improvements, but we will also try to finance what the new manager wants to do.
"We have got money to just throw away, but we will try to make money available."
The search is now on for the new man to take over the Robins following Hughes' departure on Tuesday.
Holden added: "We've got to appoint the right person - someone who's ambitious like we are.
"We won't make a knee-jerk reaction but we need to move quickly because pre-season training isn't far away."
