FLORIST Katherine Walker picked up a bouquet at her society's 'oscar' ceremony.
The 18-years-old singer was awarded the Bas Barker Trophy as Best Newcomer at The Three Towns Operatic Society's awards evening following their production of the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta "Princess Ida" at Lowton Civic Hall.
Katherine, who works at Howcroft's florists, Leigh, and has been a society member for three years. Marlene Oldfield was presented with the Orchestra Trophy for her oustanding success in the title role and Richard Lewis of Culcheth received the Chorus Trophy.
