TRUCK driver Wendy Aldred, aged 31, of Hough Lane, Tyldesley, died when lorry she was driving left the carriageway of the M60 last Thursday.
Shortly after 5am the commercial heavy goods vehicle travelling along the slip road from the Northbound Princess Parkway towards the M60 anti clockwise close to its junction with the M56 left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
She died at the scene. There were no other vehicles involved.
Police are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, they are asked to contact the Motorway Unit on 0161 856 2181.
A spokesman for Excel said: "We can confirm that one of our employees sadly died as a result of an incident on the M60 in the early hours of June 3.
"Excel is co-operating fully with every stage of the investigation into this incident and wishes to express its deepest sympathy to the family of the driver involved."
