A NEW £300,000 neighbourhood nursery has opened in Tyldesley.
The Little Stars Day Nursery, based in the grounds of Shakerley Primary School, can cater for 40 children and has all the latest equipment -- including a six seater pram.
It has been funded by the government's Sure Start programme, which helps disadvantaged areas, and Neighbourhood Nurseries.
Sixteen pre-schoolers will be catered for in school, but 25 younger children will be tended in the purpose built nursery.
Owned by the Shakerley Community Partnership it will be run by a seven strong voluntary management committee.
The nursery will be open 51 weeks a year from 8am to 6pm and there are a few places still available. An official opening ceremony will be organised next month.
