Greenmount stay in contention
GREENMOUNT stayed in contention at the top of the Bolton League after cantering to victory against Eagley on Saturday.
Eagley elected to take first knock on a good looking wicket but were rocked early on when both openers fell for golden ducks.
Visiting pro Chuck O'Rourke took the attack to the home bowlers but his valiant 37 was only supported by Sidney de Silva's 36.
Mark Stewart was the pick of the Greenmount attack as his 6-50 meant Eagley were skittled out for 130.
Scott Leach (2-16) and Ryan Senior (2-27) were also in the wickets.
Greenmount's winning chase was never in doubt and they were given the perfect platform for their success by opener Andy Bowker's solid 39 at the very top of the order.
Pro Nishit Shetty (30) played an entertaining knock before Ryan Senior and Mark Fallon saw their side with seven wickets remaining.
Greenmount are now two points behind leaders Westhoughton and stand 20 points ahead of third-placed Walkden.
Both of the early leaders are on their travels this weekend.
Greenmount take on Little Lever with Bradshaw hosting Westhoughton.
Both sides will expect to continue their excellent form with Little Lever currently propping up the Bolton League and Bradshaw fourth after a good weekend victory.
