BURY schoolchildren were among scores of commuters hit this week when a series of incidents put the brakes on Metrolink services.
On Tuesday, six trams broke down. There were also claims the vehicles' air compressors were unable to cope with the hot weather. Passengers faced delays of up to 90-minutes on the Bury to Altrincham line.
Caught up among the chaos were 28 staff and children of Springside Primary school in Bury who, along with parents, had to trek from Piccadilly Station to Market Street when the service was disrupted.
