D-DAY celebrations were in full swing at Prestwich Conservative Club last weekend with singing and dancing 1940s-style.
More than 100 members arrived at the club on Church Lane to relive the era and spent the night dancing to the decade's classic songs while indulging in the war-time favourite food, potato pie, to remember those who sacrificed their lives 60 years ago.
Club member Mr Peter Powell said: "We celebrated D-Day weekend with an entertainment evening in full fancy dress. People could come dressed as anything they liked but many people were in outfits from that period. We even gave out spot prizes of tins of spam. It was a lovely event, really well done, and everyone enjoyed themselves."
