A HOUSE-breaker who struck for the tenth time is back behind bars after earlier being warned not to do it again.

Burnley Crown Court heard how Conrad Howarth, 24, went back to his old ways after his release from prison. A judge, who yesterday jailed him again, also ordered he serve the remainder of the last sentence.

Howarth, who invaded a couple's home after they went shopping and was captured leaving the property on a neighbour's CCTV camera, was sent to custody for two years and 146 days, to be served after the unexpired term.

The defendant, of Cleaver Street, admitted burglary and three deception charges.

John O'Shea, prosecuting, told the court the latest victims left their home in Boundary Street, Burnley, locked and secure. They returned the same afternoon to find the back door forced open and property worth £715, including a DVD player and laptop computer, taken.

Police examined the CCTV footage and realised the person coming out of the burgled house was Howarth. He was arrested and made no comment except to say it wasn't him on the video film.

Dennis Watson, defending, said Howarth had pleaded guilty and urged the court to give him credit for the pleas.
