GEOGRAPHY teacher Howard Perry has put his school on the map after being nominated for a prestigious education award.
While Mr Perry, who is deputy head at Parrenthorn High School, did not win the coveted Guardian Award for Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School, he is still a "top teacher" in the eyes of his colleagues and pupils.
Mr Perry was nominated for the North West Teaching Awards for his inspirational work in the subject of Geography.
Headteacher Mr Mick Fitgerald said: "Mr Perry is just brilliant. He manages to get outstanding results from his geography students year after year."
The winner of this category was Helen Wilson of Henbury High School in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
