THE news of the suspected arson attack on St. Paul's Church in Bury has left me very angry and deeply upset.
I was christened in that church and saw cousins christened there. I attended St. Paul's C of E primary school and, from Harvest time through to Easter during those years, we were often there for services. So natuarally, I feel a strong link to that church, having spent so much of my childhood there.
I hope that the people responsible for this are made an example of: have they no shame? I also hope with all of my heart that the church can somehow be salvaged. A church of such historic value, and of course, personal value to all those that it has touched, deserves so much more.
DEEPLY UPSET,
Brandlesholme, Bury.
