AS I stroll along the leafy pavements of Bastwell, admiring the wild flowers on the pavement's edge, amidst the traffic's roar, I hear the song of the skylark. As I sidestep speeding traffic to cross the highway I realise how many drivers do not wear seat belts.
It also seems de rigueur amongst many to jump red lights, park on double yellow lines, use mobile phones on the move and park on the pavement.
Come bedtime as I lie in peace at midnight listening to the owl hooting even this fine bird has to compete with car horns emulating his call.
