AFTER reading (LET, June 3) about the non-policing of permit parking in the Ewood area I just had to have a chuckle.
I live within this area and have paid for a permit and a visitor's permit also. The main permit is on my wife's car, and the visitor's goes in mine on match days.
Unfortunately my pass slipped down the air-vent on the dashboard so I have been putting a note in the car giving my door number just in case we got the rare visit from the wardens.
That visit came after 18 months and I was given a £30 fine, no knock on the door, no chance to explain just a fine.
I wrote to the fixed penalty office to explain the situation (the helpline is a recorded message) and enclosed a copy of my log book to prove proof of ownership and also address. The appeal failed and I've been given 28 days to pay up.
Next season I will have to remember to park on a grass verge or block a back alley where vehicles are left unpunished.
