ELTON High School was evacuated yesterday (Monday) afternoon for 30 minutes after staff and pupils smelled smoke in a classroom.
The 950 pupils and teachers were ordered to leave the Walshaw Road school at 2.15pm as firefighters made their way to the scene.
Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to try and locate any heat sources in the floors and the roof but none was found.
