HOLLY Marron made friends with a special visitor at a fun day at St Paul's Primary School in Porritt Street, Bury.

Six-year-old Holly made a bee-line for Midnight who was one of the donkeys who provided rides for youngsters at the event, attended by the school's 150 pupils.

The day, which was sponsored by MFI, was in place of this year's school trips but school secretary, Margaret Caunce, believes it could become an annual event.

She said: "The children had a brilliant time and everybody really enjoyed themselves. Even the weather was nice! The fun day was a real success and it is definitely something we will be doing every year from now on."

As well as donkey rides, the children enjoyed bouncy castles and slides, an assault course, face painting and a balloon race.
