A BAND that won acclaim at this year's Glastonbury Festival is on its way to Burnley this summer.

Fresh from their success in the Acoustic Stage round of the festival's unsigned bands contest, Bodixa will appear on the second stage at Reach 2 Festival in Queen's Park on Sunday, August 22.

The Leeds-based group received honorary mention at Glastonbury after a storming Saturday set and rave reviews from fans. They boast a chilled out sound with strong female vocals.

The festival's full line-up is The Beat, Bodixa, Sahara, The Buzzards, Malibu Stacey, Colcannon, Honeymoon Machine, Qawaal Party, Melissa Baten, Dhamak, Freedom Angels and Harry and James.

There will also be a mixture of ska, as well as two tone stars of the 80s, The Beat.

From Australia come contemporary folk group Colcannon playing the festival as part of a huge British tour.

The Buzzards are from the hills of West Wales and come highly recommended with their own inimitable folk-rock style. It will be their first Northern appearance.

Punk rockers Malibu Stacey include ex-Terrorvision member Leigh Marklew and are getting a lot of coverage in the music press.

Honeymoon Machine are also being tipped for the top as one of the next line of great British indie bands.

Acoustic duo Harry and James are also set to play. The female singer is believed to be a major star for the future.

Shedoes a bit of acting on the side and will soon be seen in BBC soap EastEnders.
