A SOCCER-MAD chef from East Lancashire found himself in the premier league of the catering trade when he was made head chef at the restaurant owned by Michael Caine and Marco Pierre White.

Tim Payne, 26, a passionate Rovers supporter, completed his catering qualifications at Accrington and Rossendale College before training at Northcote Manor in Langho. Tim was awarded a Michelin Gold Star for the quality of his cooking.
