PUPILS from a Clitheroe school are set to join a cast of around 500 children for the performance of a lifetime at Birmingham Symphony Hall next week.

The young musicians from Bowland High School will be performing at the Specialist Schools Trust's Summer Showcase event on July 15.

Fifteen schools will be in the limelight and performances will include music by Leonard Bernstein, Henry Mancini and Glen Miller.

The event is being sponsored by the Music Sound Foundation - a charity arm of record giant EMI, which boasts Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Cliff Richard and Diana Ross as patrons.

Tickets, priced £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s and over 60s, are available from Amanda or Melanie at 020 7802 2366.
