BLACKBURN High School for Girls may have disappeared in 1966 when it was absorbed into the comprehensive system, but its spirit lives on.

From July 24, Blackburn Museum will be putting on an exhibition about the history of the school and staff are keen to display as much memorabilia as possible.

If you are an old student or the child of a former student, museum staff are urging you to search in the attic or to look through your mementoes to see if you have anything relating to Blackburn Girls' High School from 1883 to 1966.

Former students already hold an annual reunion lunch and are keen to show the present generation that the school played a significant part in education in Blackburn. Anyone with items for inclusion in the exhibition should take them to Blackburn Museum during the week commencing July 17 and mark items for the attention of Nick Harling.
