PROPERTY giant Kingmoor Park is looking for potential sites in the Leigh area as part of a major expansion programme.

The news that the company is looking for new locations follows the success of the company's operation at Bridgewater Business Park in Leigh.

It comes hot on the heels of further expansion plans for the company's flagship business park in Carlisle.

Bridgewater Business Park stands on a site steeped in industrial history. Originally created as a base for the Anchor Cable Company in 1900, the site has become synonymous with Leigh's strong industrial heritage.

Modern-day Bridgewater Business Park is carrying on the tradition providing an extensive range of premises including office, warehouse and distribution facilities to cater for the area's increasingly diverse business interests.

Anthony Goddard, managing director of Kingmoor Park Properties, is now identifying further sites for expansion in the Leigh area.

He said: "These are exciting times for Kingmoor Park Properties. As well as Bridgewater Business Park and Crossley Park at Heaton Chapel, Stockport, the company has taken over a business park in North Wales.

"Both are being re-badged under the Kingmoor Park name as part of a phased rolling programme. Kingmoor Park Properties is actively looking for further sites, particularly close to major road and rail links and Leigh fits the bill perfectly.

"Ongoing investment at Kingmoor Park in Carlisle is an integral part of the company's overall expansion strategy, which includes developing existing business parks and establishing new ones in key locations."

At the Carlisle site - one of the biggest industrial complexes in the north of England -- more than 1,100 jobs have already been created over the past five years.
