Mother-of-three Chanchal Chauhan will be taking on some of England's highest hills in the Peak District Challenge to raise money for a cancer charity.

Chanchal has taken on the 35km hike in memory of her father and sister who both died of cancer.

The two-day trek, which covers 15 peaks, will be take place in August and Chanchal will be accompanied by her niece, Alpa Parmar. She is hoping her friends, family and local businesses will dig deep and help them beat their fundraising target of £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Chanchal says, "There is a history of cancer on my side of the family. Since losing my father, sister and other family members to cancer, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 and am currently in remission.

"Completing this challenge will be a real personal achievement, but it's also a great way for me to put something back and help the many others affected by cancer." The trek will be a real adventure for Chanchal, Alpa and the rest of the team, consisting of two days trekking through the remote and demanding country of the Peak District.

"I have been doing some training and I have completed a 5km walk in the past."

Money raised will help Macmillan Cancer Relief fund specialist Macmillan nurses and doctors who deliver the best in cancer care, build vitally needed treatment centres and give financial help to those who need it most.
