THE grouse shooting season begins on August 12, and we have found that extremists involved in hunt sabotage are already recruiting shooting saboteurs via their website for the coming season.
This tallies with an increase in animal rights activity around shooting in recent years.
In response to this increased activity, the Countryside Alliance has launched a new national shoot sabotage hot-line and advice card.
The hot-line provides 24-hour advice on how best to respond to any incidents and liaise with the police.
The hot-line number is: 0845 225 0486. To accompany the hot-line launch we have produced a pocket-sized leaflet to take on shoots, which gives advice for use in an emergency and is available from the Campaign for Shooting.
We will always defend and promote our sport and being ready for every eventuality is part of that.
