DRIVERS of 4x4 vehicles should be made to pay more tax for the extra pollution they cause, says Euro MP Chris Davies.
Sales of four-wheel 'gas guzzlers' rose 20 per cent last year in Britain, and environmentalists claim their emissions are contributing to global warming.
Mr Davies, Lib Dem MEP for the North West, said that taxes raised in this way would be used to encourage more domestic energy saving.
