FIREMAN Rick Warburton has given a lift to a national charity.
The station officer, based at Whitefield, recently completed the 13 mile Great North Run in aid of the When You Wish Upon a Star appeal which helps make dreams come true for terminally ill children.
The 44-year-old firefighter, who lives in Bury, took just one hour and 46 minutes to cover the half-marathon course and raised a total of £500 in sponsorship.
