POLICE are hunting thieves who struck at two Ribble Valley pubs on the same evening.

Cash and personal items worth around £350 in total were stolen during the break-ins at the De Lacy Arms, in King Street, Whalley, and the Bay Horse, on the A59 at Osbaldeston, on Tuesday night.

The burglaries, which were carried out simultaneously, are not being linked by police.

At the De Lacy Arms, burglars scaled a gate to get into the rear yard some time between 7pm and 9.45pm. They then moved a small table to help them climb through a first-floor window.

They took a pair of gent's gloves worth £30, a windchime worth £10, a Next parker-style jacket worth £90 and a De Lacy baseball cap.

At the Bay Horse, the raidersstole around £219 cash.
