FYLDE face a tricky journey to Blaydon's Crow Trees Ground on Saturday for a National Three (North) league game which is important to the two clubs for different reasons.

When the Lancastrians made this trip last season they suffered a 6-41 loss, just about their worst performance during the campaign.

Fylde got due revenge in December when they won by 32-3 at the Woodlands, a rather flattering score line on the day.

That will sting Blaydon as much as their league position, currently 10th. Fylde will be looking to get their fractured season back on track after an enforced four week break and put some pressure on the clubs above them at the top of the table.

Blaydon are having a bit of a struggle in N3(N) this season following a successful 2003/4 campaign in which they finished in fourth place.

They sank into the relegation zone following the Fylde defeat but have put together three successive and highly impressive wins (against Kendal, New Brighton and Rugby) since then to begin to turn their season around.

Although they've lost a couple of games narrowly at home against two of the leading clubs, Macclesfield and Tynedale, they are a very difficult to beat at the Crow Trees ground and Fylde will do well to come away with the league points.

Fylde's away form is 'flaky', with two wins and three defeats, compared with six straight victories at the Woodlands.

Fylde are likely to name the same or very similar squad which was frustrated by the Darlington postponement last Saturday.

Elsewhere in National Three (North) pick of Saturday's round of matches is third placed Tynedale's trip to league leaders Halifax.

Just as well that the North Easterners aren't at home this weekend given the dramatic pictures of their flooded ground last Saturday.
