PADIHAM returned to the top of the table after recording their biggest home win of the season.

Two Daniel Stubberfield goals on seven and 34 minutes put the Storks in the driving seat and when Stuart Telfer (50 mins) and Neil Almond (51 mins) added further goals at the start of the second half, the Storks were well on top in a lively game.

Take nothing away from Holker, on another day the Cumbrian side might have scored four themselves. But Padiham's debutant goalkeeper, Danny Woodhead, made two important saves around the half-hour mark from Paul Southward and Carl Waters.

In the second half, Waters hit the Storks' crossbar direct from a free kick and Dave Swarbrick struck Padiham's upright with a well-taken 25-yard effort.
