BORO goalkeeper Danny Hurst will spend this week training with Coca Cola Division One side Sheffield Wednesday.

Boro's last line of defence has finally attracted the attention of a league club after starring between the posts for Boro for the last five seasons.

"He'll be joining them for training and if it goes okay he will feature in a reserve game for them the following week," confirmed Boro boss Kevin Glendon.

"It has only happened over the last week or so," he added: "I know they are after a good young goalkeeper to develop and who knows, Danny may fit the bill.

"He is only 23 and has been with us since he was 18.

"A couple of league clubs have looked at him during that time and hopefully now for the lad's sake Wednesday will give him a shot at the big time, he is good enough and he deserves it."

The only other keeper on Boro's books is the youth teams barry George, who has featured this season for the first team when Hurst was injured.
