A PENSIONER'S purse was snatched by a woman who called at her home for a glass of water.
Police said the thief asked for a drink from several residents of Hornby Court, Lancaster Street, Blackburn, by pressing the intercom buttons.
A woman agreed to get her a glass of water at 7.15pm on Wednesday and told the thief to wait at the door.
But while the pensioner was pouring her a drink, the thief invited herself into the home and snatched the purse.
The pensioner found the woman sitting on her sofa and told her she had not asked her in.
The caller left the house and the pensioner later found her purse, containing keys and £10, had been taken.
The thief was described as 5ft 4in, of slim build, with brown collar-length hair, in her early 20s and with several of her upper left teeth were missing
She was wearing a three-quarter length navy coat.
