I DIDN'T watch Jerry Springer -- The Opera so I can't comment on that, but Martin Smith (LET, January 13) should realise that many people (just under 50 per cent according to one newspaper) no longer believe in God.
Where was this caring, loving saviour in the wake of the tsunami disaster?
Where was He during all the wars -- many in the name of religion -- when innocent people were tortured and killed?
I read every week in magazines of the terrible things people suffer -- where was He then?
The tsunami disaster showed me that nature is far stronger than any god so perhaps God and nature are one and the same.
