DRUNKEN Wayne Kelleher got more than he bargained after he turned nasty and bit a man's finger.
For his victim, Leigh Donnelly, frogmarched him to a public phone in Piccadilly where he called the police, magistrates in Manchester were told.
And despite having his glasses broken in a second assault he still managed to detain Kelleher, said prosecutor Beverley Bates.
Kelleher, of Cateaton Street, Bury, admitted two counts of assault and damage and was given a two-year rehabilitation order.
He was also ordered to pay Mr Donnelly £150 compensation plus another £60 for the damage to his glasses.
Miss Bates said Kelleher (34) became aggressive after approaching the complainant in Piccadilly bus station on December 10. After being told to go away he lunged at Mr Donnelly and bit him on the finger and was hit several times to make him let go. Later he resumed the attack when he knew the police were coming and was held until they arrived.
Simon Harkinson, defending, said Kelleher had been drinking heavily and was unable to recall the incident.
